BRISTOL, R.I. 颅颅鈥 Roger Williams University ranked among the top 10 percent in the nation in terms of 鈥渟ervice鈥 and 鈥渆ncouraging students to give something back to their country,鈥 according to the Washington Monthly鈥檚 new annual College Guide and rankings.
The No. 67 ranking represents a dramatic increase from 2016, when 澳门六合彩 ranked No. 347 in the nation in terms of service. That rapid rise reflects the university鈥檚 new mission and its commitment to being a private university with a public purpose, 澳门六合彩 President Donald J. Farish said.
鈥淚f our mission 鈥 to strengthen society and build the university the world needs now 鈥 is going to be more than words, then we need to back up the words with action, and we do,鈥 Farish said. 鈥淧roject-based learning that engages with the community is now our hallmark. We applaud using that as a criterion versus questions such as 鈥楬ow big is the university鈥檚 endowment?鈥 鈥
Farish said it is crucial to ask how the broader society benefits from a university. 鈥淭oo often it doesn鈥檛,鈥 he said. 鈥淏ut at Roger Williams University, we make that our objective.鈥
